PHCN business manager calls for training of marketers to enhance accurate meter reading

By on March 14, 2013

Mr Emmanuel Ilesanmi, PHCN Business Manager in Omu-Ara in Kwara, has suggested intensive training of PHCN marketers to enhance prompt and accurate reading of meters.

Ilesanmi made the suggestion at a stakeholders’ forum in Omu-Aran on Wednesday adding that lack of in-debt knowledge by the marketers was responsible for the noticeable errors on most of PHCN bills.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the forum, chaired by the traditional ruler of Omu-Aran, Oba Charles Ibitoye, was attended by artisans, traders, transporters and other youths.

According to Ilesanmi, the marketing department remains an integral part of the PHCN, but majority of the personnel don’t know how to go about their duties.

“You must have in-debt knowledge of what you want to market. More importantly, a marketer must have good manners to win the consumer whenever there is problem.
Since the marketers are lacking in these attributes, they often make mistakes which often result in consumer protest,” Ilesanmi said.
