FEC approves construction of two dams in Karshi

Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the construction of two dams in Karshi area of Abuja.

Olajumoke Akinjide, Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), gave the hint while addressing Ebele Okeke, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Ambassador, who paid her an advocacy visit.

The minister, who acknowledged the need for safe environment, noted that poor sanitation has become a national problem, unveiled the administration’s plan to deploy Sanitary Task Force across the nation’s capital city.

She said “I don’t know how we got there at all level of the society, the issue of sanitation at some point we have missed it. I like the idea of sanitary inspection. I think it is important to bring back these task group; we will start the task group soon. We are also looking at new regulations so that all houses in FCT have toilet facilities.”
