Argentina pledges support for agriculture in Benue State

The Argentine Ambassador to Nigeria, Mercelo Cima, has stated that his country was willing to support Benue State to boost its agriculture.

Cima made the pledge on Monday at a meeting with government officials in Makurdi on the need for partnership in order to boost the agricultural potentials of the nation’s acclaimed Food basket state.

The delegation, which was led by the Nigerian Ambassador to Argentina, Achive Akaave, talked on the challenges facing food processing in the state and promised to contribute their quota to fast-track development in agric business.

Akaave said the friendship which he had started with the country would have economic advantages for the country. Responding, acting governor of the state, Steven Lawani, noted that the visit was vital to the state because according to him, the major problem bedevilling its agricultural produce has always been preservation.
