Labour Strike Affects Bank Branches Not Bank E Channels
Despite the nationwide labour strike affecting bank branches today, many Nigerian banks are still offering skeletal services to their customers in the form of e-channels services. E-channels services include Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
GTBank’s Head of Information Technology Group (Software), Dayo Ogunbekun, confirmed via sms that the bank’s e-channels were up and running.
That means customers of the bank would be able to view their accounts via internet applications, and also make payments and transfers to other customers. ATM services would also be available to customers.
Over 8 million members of NLC and TUC are taking part in the nationwide strike and this has caused many businesses to lie comatose until a resolution is reached with labour leaders by government.
