Dana Air crashes fares to N15,300, plans to resume P/H route
For standing behind the airline during its turbulent time, the management of Dana Air has announced a reduction in airfares to its loyal customers between Lagos and Abuja route.
This is as National Mirror gathered that plans are underway by the airline to recommence operations into other airports in the country very soon.
An e-mailed statement signed by the Group Communications Manager, Dana Air, Mr. Tony Usidamen, stated that the special fare offered for its esteemed clients started last week and will run throughout the month.
Usidamen stated that air passengers can fly for as low as N15,300 one-way on its Lagos- Abuja-Lagos route.
Speaking on the offer, Dana’s Head of Commercial, Mr. Obi Mbanuzuo, stated that the management decided to open up seats for sale at N15,300 throughout the month of April as a “mark of appreciation to our loyal guests, and also to offer more guests the opportunity to experience our world-class services.
“We encourage all business and leisure travelers to Lagos and Abuja to take advantage of this special offer and purchase their tickets online at www.flydanaair. com or at any Dana Air sales outlet nationwide.”
Besides, our correspondent gathered that Dana management is perfecting plans to recommence flight operations to airports it was hitherto flying into before the ill-fated crash of June 4, 2012 at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos killing about 163 souls onboard and on ground.
Before the crash, Dana was operating passenger services to Port Harcourt, Kano, Uyo and Calabar airports. National Mirror gathered that the airline had planned to recommence Port Harcourt route about two weeks ago, but the grounding of one of its serviceable aircraft by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) put a halt to this plan.
At the moment, Dana has two operational equipment while plans are underway to increase the fleet in the next few weeks or months. Confirming the report in a phone interview with our correspondent, Usidamen said that it would recommence other routes as soon as its third aircraft was released for operations by NCAA. He said, “We will let you know as soon as we are ready.
It all dependent on aircraft availability. At the moment, we have two aircraft we are using for operations apart from the other serviceable one that was grounded. We actually plan to recommence Port Harcourt route, but it can change, but I want to assure you that plans are in top gear to recommence a new route.”
At the moment, Dana Air operates 10 flights daily on the Lagos-Abuja-Lagos route.
