Stock Market Watch: ASI inches up 11 points
The Nigerian Stock Exchange recorded a positive performance for the first time this year today. The bourse inched up 11 points to close at 20,657.
Top gainers today were Honeywell(4.96%), Custodian (4.93%), Dangote Flour(4.93%), Fidson(4.65%) and May & Baker(4.59%).
Top losers today were Ashaka (5%), Access(-4.91%), Eterna (-4.91%), Vitafoam (-4.9%) and Continental Re (-4.82%).
Across the banking sector top-tiers First Bank (2.27%)and GTB (1.43%) were the only company’s that gained in addition to Skye bank that gained a marginal 79 points.
Top tiers UBA and Zenith shed 463 and 106 points respectively.
Cross deals in Dangote Cement drove the price up marginally by 47 points. Ashaka and CCNN lost big points in trading today, as both companies were down 500 and 356 points respectively.
Dangote subsidiaries Nascon, and Dangote Sugar were down 470 and 123 points respectively.
