Emefiele, others to discuss blueprint for financial sector

In a bid to support the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari led government in restoring investors and public confidence in the country, the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele and other top professionals will gather in Abuja to brainstorm on a realistic blueprint for the finance sector.

The forum which is an agenda-setting event is coming under the auspices of the ninth annual banking and finance conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), is slated to hold from 8th to 9th, September 2015.
The theme of this year’s conference is: “The Financial Services Industry Agenda for a New Nigeria” with sub-themes to address specific critical issues in the economy such as: “The imperative for National Rebirth for Economic Development: The Role of Nigerian Financial Services Sector”; “The Financial Services Sector and Security Challenges in Nigeria”’; “Financing Infrastructural Development in the New era”; and “The Financial Services Sector and the Challenge of Corruption in Nigeria”.

Others on the list of high profile experts drawn from the key sectors who will examine issues at the conference include the President of the African Development Bank and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina; Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase; Chief Executive Officer Geometric Power/former Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji; Chairman, ICPC, Ekpo Nta; Executive Director, The Convention on Business Integrity, Mr. Soji Apampa; member, Monetary Policy Committee, CBN & Faculty Member, LBS, Dr. Doyin Salami, among others.

The annual banking and finance conference was designed to provide a platform for policy makers, key regulators and operators in the financial services industry to share experience and exchange ideas on relevant contemporary issues affecting the financial services sector.
