VON Automobile multivehicle assembly plant along Lagos–Badagry Expressway can meet the country’s vehicular demand with its current production capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually, the group Managing Director (automobile division) Stallion Motors Limited, Mr. Parvir Singh has said.
Singh told the automobile media at an interactive session in Lagos, recently that the plant had an installed capacity for 100,000 vehicles, adding “We can convincingly produce 50,000 vehicles annually even though we are constrained to produce what the market requires at the moment.”
He commended the Federal Government National Automotive Industry Development initiative, describing it as an economic thrust with proclivity for improved GDP.
Also, he said its subsidiary, Stallion NMN, the authorised Nissan sales company, has done remarkably well since the dealership was inaugurated 18 months ago.
Singh said, “We have experienced favourable growth indices and sales volumes due to favourable patronage by our valued customers and we are convinced very soon Nissan will assume its rightful place on the automobile sales chart.”
The Nissan marketing company top official said they made sales projection of 6,000 units by the end of 2014 sales year, saying it is a remarkable vision in the brand’s history.
Singh listed other achievements of the dealership within a year as the commissioning of an ultramodern Abuja facility; inauguration of archetypal made in Nigeria Nissan vehicles such as Nissan Almera/Sunny; NP300 Pick-up and high end Nissan Patrol SUV.

He said it was also expected that Stallion NMN’s activity with those of other stakeholders in the country’s automotive sector would in earnest save valuable foreign exchange for the country and create local skills and employment opportunities for teeming Nigerian youths.
He pledged Stallion’s commitment to world-class consumer experience, promising to continue to supply best Nissan products and services to the growing Nissan clientele.
According to him, “We plan to expand Nissan service network through the appointment of more provisional dealers to improve customer satisfaction by providing high quality service at reasonable price.”
He said Stallion sought to open ultramodern Nissan showrooms in Victoria Island and in Port-Harcourt as well as launch two additional exciting Nissan models next year.
Singh also informed journalists that there had been a change in the name of Nissan’s celebrated midsize family sedan known, previously, as Teana in this market to Altima in harmony with the product image worldwide.
