American expert to inspect Lagos, Abuja airports

The American Transportation Safety Administration’s Attaché for Central and West Africa, Ms. Mcneir Loretta, has arrived Nigeria for a three-day working visit.

A statement by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority on Tuesday said Mcneir’s visit was a follow-up assessment to the aviation security audit that was carried out on the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja in December 2013.

The statement said that Mcneir, who is based in Senegal, commenced her programme with a courtesy call on the Acting Director-General, NCAA, Mr. Benedict Adeyileka.

It added that she thereafter inspected facilities at the international wing of the Lagos airport in company with NCAA’s security officials.

According to the statement, the TSA agent is scheduled to meet with the Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Saleh Dunoma, before proceeding to Abuja for a visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Dr. Jamilla Shu’ara.

It added that while in the Federal Capital Territory, the TSA official would inspect the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

She is also billed to meet with her country’s embassy officials before returning to Lagos on Wednesday en-route Dakar.
