Ford, Coscharis inaugurate part dealer network

Ford has taken a step aimed at keeping its vehicles running efficiently on Nigerian roads with the inauguration of    Certified Parts Wholesale Dealer Network.

The event held in Lagos courtesy of the Coscharis Motors, is expected to genuine Ford spare parts available to owners/drivers of the brand whenever and wherever they are needed without any difficulty.

President, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Cosmas Maduka, said at the event, “The idea to set up this dealer network came to us as a result of our effort to address some of the recurring after-sales challenges communicated to us by some of our valuable customers and other stake-holders, through our feedback mechanisms.

“The background to this challenge is that the Ford brand has gained wide acceptance in the Nigerian automobile market, leading to rapid increase in the demand for Ford vehicles. With increase in sales came consequent increase in demand for after-sales services and spare-parts. Some of our customers live in or operate their businesses in remote areas of the country and as such, do not have easy access to our facilities whenever they have issues bothering on spare-parts, lubricants and other after-sales products and services.”

He said the intention was to prevent situations where Ford owners could be forced to patronise unscrupulous spare-parts dealers who specialised in selling counterfeit and sub-standard spare-parts and lubricants to unsuspecting members of the public.

Maduka lamented how the use of counterfeit spare-parts had exposed some motorists to untold and avoidable hazards including breakdowns, parts failure, accidents, and sometimes loss of property and lives.

“In order to address the foregoing, Coscharis Motors had in the recent past invested a great deal in after-sales facilities, setting up modern service centres, including Quick Service Centres and quick lane facilities, manned by factory trained and certified technicians in strategic locations across the country,” he said.

The collaboration with spare-parts dealers in the local market, he stressed, was to make Ford Original Equipment Manufacturer’s spare-parts available and accessible in every part of this country.
