Market cap loses N61billion on Thursday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Thursday with the market capitalisation of listed entities closing lower at N13.015 trillion losing by N61 billion or 0.47 percent when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of N13.076 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally shed 190.33 points or 0.47 percent to close on Thursday at 40,601.74 basis points as against Wednesday’s closing figure of 40,792.07 basis points.

At the close of Thursday’s transactions, investors traded 343.35 million shares valued at N4.03 billion in 5,415 deals as against the 258.69 million shares valued at N2.92 billion that was exchanged in 5,109 deals on Thursday.

GTB led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 46.45 million shares worth N1.27 billion.

Transcorp followed with 34.13 million shares valued at N120.38 million while Zenith Bank was third with 21.23 million shares worth N486.32 million.

FBNH was fourth with 20.87 million worth N301.57 million while ETI was last on the chart with 20.64 million worth N303.25 million.

Zenith topped the gainers chart with an increase of N0.90k in its share price to close at N23.90k per share.

CAP Plc followed gaining N0.33k in its share price to close at N46.99k per share while Diamond Bank in third spot gained N0.25k in its share price to close at N6.90k per share.

Africa Prudentials in fourth spot gained N0.23k in its share price to close at N3.04k per share while Transexp was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.22k to close at N2.50k per share.

However, Nestle led the losers chart shedding N19.05k in its share price to close at N1,120.95k per share.

Guinness followed with a loss of N4.00 in its share price to close at N226.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries in third spot lost N2.25k in its share price to close at N159.45k per share.

Oando was fourth losing N2.04k in its share price to close at N18.98k per share while Forte Oil was last on the chart with a share price loss of N1.60k to close at N90.20k per share.
