Market Cap up by N147billion on Tuesday

Market rally deepened on Tuesday at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, as the market capitalisation of listed entities closed higher at N13.436 trillion appreciating by N147 billion or 1.11 percent when compared with Monday’s closing figure of N13.289 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally gained by 460.35 points or 1.11 percent to close on Tuesday at 41,931.63 basis points as against Monday’s closing figure of 41,471.28 basis points.

At the close of Tuesday’s transactions, investors exchanged 276.44 million shares worth N3.06 billion in 5,698 deals as against the 308.71 million shares worth N4.53 billion that was traded on Monday in 5,530 deals.

Nestle led the gainers chart on Tuesday appreciating by N19.94k in its share price to close at N1,174.99k per share.

Dangote Cement followed gaining N4.98k in its share price to close at N230.00 per share while Guinness in third spot gained N2.50k in its share price to close at N238.00 per share.

Mobil was fourth with a gain of N1.76k in its share price to close at N122.00 per share while WAPCO was last on the chart with a share price gain of N1.00 to close at N116.00 per share.

However, Nigerian Breweries led the losers chart shedding N0.30k in its share price to close at N165.90k per share.

Livestock Feeds was second losing N0.25k in its share price to close at N4.25k per share while Oando in third spot lost N0.20k in its share price to close at N26.50k per share.

Portland Paint was fourth with a loss of N0.18k in its share price to close at N5.01k per share while UBA Capital was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.11k to close at N2.31k per share.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday with 42.29 million shares worth N173.65 million.

Fidelity Bank was second with 24.92 million shares worth N63.58 million while FBNH was third with 21.76 million shares valued at N348.31 million.

Oando was fourth with 16.19 million shares worth N431.07 million while WAPIC was last on the chart with 15.59 million shares worth N17.43 million.
