Investors trade 424.88 million shares on Wednesday

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market ended on Wednesday with investors trading 424.88 million shares valued at N3.73 billion in 4,803 deals.

This was in contrast with the 622.47 million shares valued at N4.22 billion that was exchanged on Tuesday in 4,679 deals.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, closed higher on Wednesday at 39,383.33 basis points gaining by 252.96 points or 0.65 percent when compared with Tuesday’s closing figure of 39,130.37 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally gained by N81 billion or 0.65 percent to close at N12.603 trillion as against Tuesday’s closing figure of N12.522 trillion.

FCMB led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 110.87 million shares valued at N354.79 million.

It was followed by Skye Bank with 39.80 million shares worth N172.58 million while Unity Bank was third with 34.49 million shares worth N17.64 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 29.97 million shares worth N656.12 million while Transcorp was last on the chart with 29.97 million shares valued at N113.83 million.

Unilever topped the losers chart on Wednesday shedding N2.61k in its share price to close at N52.00 per share.

PZ followed with a loss of N1.69k in its share price to close at N34.76k per share while Ashaka Cement in third spot lost N0.39k in its share price to close at N19.80k per share.

UBN was fourth with a share price loss of N0.29k to close at N9.11k per share while NASCON was last on the chart with a loss of N0.17k in its share price to close at N13.32k per share.

However, Guinness led the gainers chart appreciating by N4.99k in its share price to close at N240.00 per share.

Nigerian Breweries was second with a gain of N3.99k in its share price to close at N165.00 per share while Mobil was third gaining N1.95k in its share price to close at N117.00 per share.

Dangote Cement was fourth with a share price gain of N1.74k to close at N211.74k per share while WAPCO was last on the chart with a gain of N1.50k in its share price to close at N107.00 per share.
