Investors trade 484.64 million shares on Thursday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Thursday with investors trading 484.64 million shares worth N3.73 billion in 5,877 deals.

This was in contrast with the 671.59 million shares valued at N6.13 billion that was exchanged in 5,716 deals on Wednesday.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 125.36 points or 0.32 percent to close lower at 38,864.84 basis points when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of 38,990.20 basis points.

The market capitalisation of listed entities equally depreciated by N41 billion or 0.32 percent to close at N12.430 trillion as against Wednesday’s closing figure of N12.471 trillion.

Unity Bank led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 107.59 million shares worth N57.84 million.

It was followed by Transcorp with 102.65 million volume of shares worth N464.15 million while UBA Capital was third with 23.53 million shares valued at N34.98 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 19.54 million shares worth N413.48 million while Oando was last on the chart with 19.22 million shares worth N309.15 million.

International Breweries topped the gainers chart on Thursday with a gain of N1.13k in its share price to close at N23.88k per share.

Cadbury was second with a gain of N0.81k in its share price to close at N62.30k per share while Union Dicon in third spot gained N0.57k in its share price to close at N6.20k per share.

Dangote Cement was fourth with a share price gain of N0.50k to close at N195.50k per share while Ashaka Cement was last on the chart with a gain of N0.40k in its share price to close at N20.90k per share.

However, Nigerian Breweries led the losers chart shedding N4.00 in its share price to close at N164.00 per share.

Presco in second spot lost N1.17k in its share price to close at N37.20k per share while GTB was third losing N0.31k in its share price to close at N27.00 per share.

Eterna was fourth with a share price loss of N0.23k to close at N4.39k per share while FBNH was last on the chart with a loss of N0.23k in its share price to close at N16.28k per share.
