Investors trade 308.07 million shares on Thursday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Thursday with investors trading 308.07 million shares worth N2.09 billion in 4,305 deals as against the 288.02 million shares valued at N2.38 billion which exchanged hands in 4,482 deals on Wednesday.

Mobil led the top five gainers chart with a share price gain of N4.95k to close at N115.00 per share.

It was followed by Cadbury with a gain of N1.43k in its share price to close at N51.68k per share while Ashaka Cement was third gaining N1.03k in its share price to close at N22.00 per share.

Total was next with an addition of N0.50k in its share price to close at N157.50k per share while Presco was last on the chart with a gain of N0.49k in its share price to close at N34.49k per share.

However, Dangote Cement topped the losers chart dropping N5.44k in its share price to close at N189.50k per share.

UACN was second with a loss of N1.93k in its share price to close at N61.52k per share while Julius Berger was third dropping N0.85k in its share price to close at N77.00 per share.

PZ followed with a share price loss of N0.73k to close at N37.27k per share while Zenith Bank occupied the last position losing N0.35k in its share price to close at N20.82k per share.

The All Share Index, ALSI, on Thursday dipped by 0.79 percent or 297.02 points to closed at 36,962.63 basis points lower than Wednesday’s closing figure of 37,259.65 basis points.

The market capitalisation of the listed entities equally depreciated by 0.79 percent or N94 billion to close at N11.773 trillion as against the N11.867 trillion mark of Wednesday.

The top five trades by volume chart on Thursday was led by Transcorp with 78.63 million shares worth N132.08 million while WAPIC was second with 24.79 million shares valued at N24.33 million.

Wema Bank followed with 23.97 million shares worth N31.95 million while Access Bank was fourth with 23.41 million shares worth N248.18 million.

Hmarkins was last with 20.41 million shares worth N10.21 million.
