NSE lists 26 dealing members involved in unauthorised share sales

digitalmarketingThe Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, has listed 26 dealing member firms involved in unauthorised sales of investors’ shares between January 2012 and September 2013.

A run down of the list showed that the cases of 14 firms out of the 26 listed have been resolved while 12 remains unresolved.

Also, the names of three individuals involved in unauthorised sales of investors’ shares in the period under review was published by the NSE.

Out of these, two of the cases have been resolved while one remains unresolved according to the NSE.

The NSE in its bid to improve investors’ confidence in the market said it has commenced a strong campaign against market infraction by its dealing members.

The Nigerian bourse further expressed its optimism that Investors can now make more informed decisions about where to invest by viewing names of dealing member firms that have been found liable for contravening market rules.

The aim of this according to the Exchange is to reduce contravention of market rules to its barest minimum in order to restore confidence.
