Insurer Calls For Human Capacity Building

GROUP President of Standard Insurance Consultants, a insurance brokerage firm, Mallam Ahmed Salawudeen, has advised practitioners to imbibe the culture f training and re-training of employees to

scale up manpower need and forestall capital flight in the sector.

He said this would ensure client expectations are met, adding that practitioners need to be re-trained regularly to meet the needs of clients, especially in the oil and gas industry and take full advantage of the Local Content Law.

The insurance expert, who made the assertion last week, explained that

the Law as has created vast opportunities for insurance business in the oil and gas sector.

He explained that his organisation is working to enhance the efficiency and professionalism of its workforce through its technical partnership with Willis

Group, a United Kingdom-based world’s leading re-insurance broker, which

specialises in oil and gas underwriting.

“Our partnership with Willis means that our staff can benefit from the rich

resource base of Willis. Currently we have sent two of our staff to Willis for a

course in Masters of Energy Programme. This training will enhance our professionalism, especially in oil and gas,” he said.
