Anambra supports E-PPAN, CBN on e-Government Summit

Anambra State government has given its support for the e-government summit being organised by the E-Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN), in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Financial Systems Strategy (FSS) 2020. The event is scheduled for next week in Abuja.
According to the organisers, the summit would be chaired by the Governor of CBN, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, and would be officially declared open by Anambra State Governor, Dr. Willie Obiano.
The two-day summit, with the theme: “E-government: Key to Sustainable Development’, will play host to a lot of dignitaries including Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Communication Technology, Dr. Tunji Olaopa.
Olaopa will be speaking on ‘the Overview of the E-Government Master Plan’, while the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, will speak on ‘Exploiting ICT for Efficient Government and Service Delivery to Citizens.’
Other dignitaries expected at the event, according to the organisers, include Permanent Secretary, Economic Affairs Office Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Anastasia Mabi Daniel-Nwaobia; Managing Director, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Company (NDIC), Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim; Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr. Peter Jack and the Managing Director, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc, Ade Shonubi.
Others include the Vice President, Government, Services and Solutions, Sub-Saharan Africa, MasterCard, Paul Tswanya; Managing Director, Verve Nigeria Limited, Mr. Charles Ifedi and Country Manager, Visa Inc, Mr. Ade Ashaye.
According to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Secretary, E-PPAN, Mrs. Onajite Regha, the summit will focus on seven key developmental areas including the payment system; agriculture; financial inclusion; insurance; pension; mortgage, and micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The various presentations at these sector- focused technical sessions will help prepare participants to combine strategy and execution in a single learning experience. It will also help to create awareness about the significance of e-Government in the present day Nigeria and the need for public-private collaboration to foster a sustainable national development.
