Custodian and Allied records N5.15billion profit

Custodian and Allied Plc has released its audited results for the year ended 31 December 2014, showing improved performance.  Custodian and Allied  Plc  is an  investment holding company with significant investments in general and life insurance, pension fund administration, trusteeship and property holding businesses.

According to the  results, total assets base rose to N48.9 billion while profit before tax and profit after tax were N5.15 billion and N4.09 billion, respectively, indicating a year on year growth of 19 per cent in profit before tax.
The board of the company has recommended the payment of a final dividend of 12 kobo to bring the total dividend to 18 kobo per share for the  year. The company had early paid interim dividend of six kobo per share  in September.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE)  has reviewed the
NSE Lotus Islamic Index (NSE LII) to coincide with the end of the first quarter 2015. The review became expedient following the expected merger of Lafarge Cement Plc and Ashaka Cement Plc later in the year. The recomposition of these indices after the review, which led to the exit of Ashaka Cement from the index and entry of Mobil Oil became effective on Wednesday.

The NSE in partnership with Lotus Capital Limited began publishing certified Shari’ah compliant Index known as the  in July 2012. The index consists of companies in conformity with the principles of
Shari’ah and was the first index created to track the performance of Shari’ah compliant equities on the floor of the exchange. Investment instruments like Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) were built on the Index which ethically minded investors, both in Nigeria and overseas can invested in.
