A forum of business leaders under the aegis of Corporate Forum on Sunday said it had concluded plans to interact with President Goodluck Jonathan on issues of national interest ahead of the February 14 presidential election.

The forum disclosed the plan in a statement, noting that the session was arranged to interact purely with the president on the success of his administration since 2011.

The statement explained the significance of the interactive session with the president, which it said, was arranged to promote robust discussion with the organised private sector (OPS), captains of industries and professional groups.

It said the session the president, which will hold next Sunday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, would feature comprehensive presentation on Jonathan’s achievement in the past five years.

It added that the forum “has a tradition of organising interactive session with the president since Nigeria’s democratic transition with a view to promoting a culture of meaningful engagement between the business and political class.”

It stated that the forum held a meaningful session with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999; interacted with former President Umaru Yar’Adua in 2007 and discussed with President Jonathan in 2011 on diverse matters of socio-economic interest.

According to the statement, there would be a dinner with the president immediately after the interactive session.
