48 ships laden with containers, foods expected in Lagos from January 8

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Thursday said it was expecting 48 ships to berth at Lagos ports from January 8 to January 25.

According to NPA in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 21 of the ships will arrive at the ports with containerised goods, while 12 others will sail in with food items.

It said the foods include frozen fish, bulk malt, bulk salt, buckwheat, bulk sugar and rice.

NPA said nine ships would come in with general cargo, while a ship would sail in with vehicles.

“Six other ships are being expected with diesel, aviation fuel and petrol.

“Nineteen ships had arrived at the ports with foods, general cargoes and petroleum
products, waiting to discharge their contents,’’ it added.

Nigeria Holds Machinery, Construction Exhibition
A three-day building and construction exhibition is scheduled to hold in Lagos on January 19.The Managing Director of Atlantic Exhibition, Mr. Paul Ayodeji Olugbade,  explained that the up coming fair would be the first of its kind.

He the upcoming fair is in collaboration with Meridyen International Fair Organisation and endorsed by the Ministry of Economy, Republic of Turkey and the Nigeria Association of Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines And Agriculture (NICCIMA). BUILDMACEX Nigeria 2015 is scheduled to hold on February 3 to 5 at Eko Hotels & Suites Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria from 10a.m. to 6p.m. daily.

According to Olugbade, it is an international fair where exhibitors are expected  from various part of the world to show case their products and services. He said over a hundred exhibitors are expected at the fair, just as he listed companies from Republic of Turkey, Dubai, Italy, China, Egypt, South Africa, Indian and many other that would participate in the exhibition. Some of the exhibitors from Nigeria are Wood stone electronics, Bozac roofing, Stella Construction, Nestval ventures, Dulux, Sun group, DFN and many others.
