NSE moves 581.902m shares worth N3.21bn

Istockmarketnvestors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday staked N3.21 billion on 581.902 million shares in 3,448 deals.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the volume of transactions represented 32.01 per cent increase over the 440.812 million shares worth N4.12 billion traded in 4,964 deals on Tuesday.

NEM Insurance emerged the most traded stock, accounting for 62.21 million shares valued at N37.98 million in 17 deals.

Diamond Bank came second on the activity chart with 51.38 million shares worth N295.30 million in 46 deals, while Aso Savings accounted for 50.00 million shares valued at N25 million in one deal.

Similarly, the NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 1642.82 points or 5.01 per cent to close at 34,428.82 from the 32,786.00 achieved on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation rose by N578 billion to close at N11.402 trillion from the N10.824 trillion posted on Tuesday.

Nestle still maintained its price leadership to led the gainers’ chart and close at N930.22 per share.

Seplat trailed with a gain of N29.93 to close at N322.11, while Dangote Cement up by N18.19 to close at N196.65 per share.

Guinness appreciated by N14.11 to close at N151.87, while Ngerian Breweries rose by N9.23 to close at N160.98 per share.

Conversely, 7UP recorded the highest price loss of N1.70 to close at N160 per share.

It was followed by OkomuOil which lost 91k to close at N24.80 per share.

UACN depreciated by 55k to close at N35.45, while Sterling Bank and Mansard Insurance dipped by 10k each to close at N2.33 and N13.21 per share respectively. (NAN)
