“This is a proof to my colleagues that when we put our minds to certain things, we not only achieve them, but we do them well and on time. This is a proof to the financial community that NIBSS on whose shoulders a lot of responsibility has been added is world class. As a Nigerian company we are here to make sure that Nigeria is also world class because of these certifications that we received today” she said
Meanwhile, the Managing Director, DigitalJewels, Adedoyin Odunfa, has explained that as strategic partners to NIBSS responsible for guiding the organisation through the rigorous and painstaking process of achieving this revered accreditations, the company is pleased to have achieved this momentous milestone.
“It is not often that you get two certifications being presented to one organisation at the same time. If you look at the positioning of NIBSS along the e payment value chain, it is very pivotal to making the cashless Nigeria mandate a reality. So it is really important and an incredible demonstration of responsibility by the management of NIBSS to subject itself to the rigour of accreditation to these global established standards,” she said.
Odunfa, however, pointed out that the project wouldn’t have been a success but for the tremendous support received from the visionary leadership of NIBSS that championed the cause.
She noted that aside from CBN being pleased with the certifications, the industry as a whole would benefit from the certifications.
On his part, Acting British Deputy High Commission in Lagos, and representative of the British Standard Institute (BSI), Mr. Mike Purves, said the process of certifications had further deepened NIBSS partnership with BSI and DigitalJewels in ensuring that processes are well developed.
