By on November 23, 2014

All is now set for the hosting of the 2014 Nigeria Auto Journalists Awards slated for Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga as the Special Guest of Honour.
To be recognised for this contribution to the auto industry, the Minister is expected to use the occasion to meet with industry players who are both engaged in local auto assembling and distribution.

According to a statement made available to newsmen by the organisers, “the new auto policy is a very critical factor in the growth and sustenance of the industry, hence, the minister who oversees the National Automotive Council, has been playing very active roles in this regard”.

The statement added that the award night will equally offer an opportunity to industry players to interact with one another as well as enable stakeholders to review the industry’s performance this year.

Moreso, the event will witness the unveiling of the 2014 edition of the Auto journal that will x-ray the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) launched in 2013 as an integral part of the Nigerian National Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP).
The event will also feature recognitions such as the Car of the Year, the Auto Assembly Plant of the Year, Truck of the Year among others. It would be recalled that the awards had previously been held consistently for over five years.
