FG reappoints Odumodu as SON DG

The Federal Government has announced the reappointment of the Director-General, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Dr. Joseph Odumodu, for another term.

A statement on Tuesday stated that the reappointment which would be effective from February 1, 2015 at the expiration of the current tenure, is in line with the provisions of Standards Organisation of Nigeria Act, CAP S9 LFN, 2004.

It said the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, told journalists in Abuja.

According to the minister, President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the renewal of Odumodu’s appointment for another term as part of efforts to sustain initiatives that will further address standardisation issues in the country.

Aganga was quoted as saying, “Your reappointment is in recognition of the numerous initiatives you have put in place to support the competitiveness of Nigerian products and services in the global market and the new reforms you have commenced with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to develop a National Standards and Quality Infrastructure that will support the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan of the Federal Government.”
