Lagos to host Africa Brand Strategists

Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) in collaboration with North Dakota State University, USA and ValueFronteira Ltd, a Lagos based consulting firm have concluded plans to host an International workshop which has as theme: Integrated Brand Promotions.

The event holds at Oakwood Hotel, Lekki Expressway, Lagos on November 5 and 6, 2014.
The workshop director, Professor Charles Okigbo in a statement, said that the workshop was designed to expose participants to the evolving shift from Integrated Marketing Communication to Integrated brand promotions, with emphasis on relevant strategies, tactics, research processes, analytical skills and exemplary case studies from different sectors and regions of the globe.
On the benefits of the two day capacity building event, Professor Martin Oluba, Chief Executive Officer of ValueFronteira Ltd, added that “companies need to adopt a strategy that can stand the future and present competition, create a robust approach and focus on the integral components that determine purchase decision and affinity in the occurrence of market shift.”

Expected to participate at the workshop are marketing and brand managers, directors in leading companies, chief executive officers and head of corporate communications in government agencies, ministries and departments and heads of advertising and public relations firms as well as other business leaders from across Africa. The resource persons are Dr.Charles Okigbo, a professor of Advertising Communication, North Dakota State University; his colleagues Dr. Nan Yu, a communications expert and professor Joseph Jones, Professor of Marketing. A contribution will come from Dr. Katherine Frith, Professor and Deputy Director, School of Journalism, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA. Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, Managing Director, Prima Garnet Africa; Mr. Enyi Odigbo, Managing Director, DDB Lagos and Mr. Udeme Ufot, Managing Director SO&USaatchi, Mr. Yinka Akande, and Dr. Martin Oluba, branding experts from the home front will complement the team from USA.
