Jonathan approves appointment of FAAN board, others

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Governing Boards of the Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) and other federal government institutions, parastatals and agencies.

This was contained in a statement signed yesterday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.

According to the statement, Dr. Daniel Kure has been appointed as the Chairman of FAAN, while other members of the board are Onuora Chinwe Leticia, Alhaji Ibrahim Bamalli, Ms. Ngozi Lavender, Capt. Shafii Salisu Baba, Alhaji Habu Muazu and Mr. Phillip Aivoji.

The statement also confirmed the appointment of Mr. Taiwo Adeife as the Chairman, National Agency for The Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters.

Members of the agency are Mrs. Evelyn Hosa Okunbo, Godson Echegiele, Gambo Gujungu, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, Hajiya Rabi Muntari Muhammed and Adi Elekwachi.

Also, Dr. Godwin Ajakpo was appointed the Chairman, Federal College of Chemical and Leather Technology, Zaria, while the members are Ms. Kemi Iyatum, Alhaji Nuhu Sani Ibrahim, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, and Alhaji Ahmed Abbas Isa.

Similarly, Hon. Edward Akangbou has been appointed the Chairman of
National Research Institute For Chemical Technology, Zaria, with Alhaji Umar Dange, Baba Gana Tijjani Dikwa, Mr. Dom Uzonwuru, and Effiong Oqoung as member.

The statement also confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Abdullahi Haruna Ningi as Chairman of
National Library of Nigeria, while the members are Mr. Inye Marshall Harry Jnr, Mr. Kalabari Odimiri, Madaki Hussaini Abdullahi, Obafemi Oye, Salisu Suleiman,
Others are Hon. Tijjani Kumalia,Usman Idris Mawogi, Mrs. Atinuke Akinwale, Mr. Innocent Anoliefo, Felicia Etim, and Mr. Obi Michael.

In the same vein, President Jonathan approved the appointment of Mr. Innocent Maduagwu as the Chairman, National Geological Surveys Agency. While Mr. Adebisi Omoyeni has been appointed the Chairman, Citizen and Leadership Training Centre, Dr. Mahmud Abdulrahman Enagi, has been appointed Chairman, Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu.

In addition, Josephine O. Ugochukwu was appointed Chairman, Federal School of Dental Technology and Therapy, while Mr. Wehab Owokoniran has been appointed member, Board of Sheda Science and Technology Complex. Also Mr. Chris Ogbomo has been confirmed as member, Board of Nomadic Education Commission.

The dates for the formal inauguration of the governing boards of the above institutions, parastatals and agencies would be announced later by the respective supervising authorities and ministers.
