Senate demands explanation on N174bn aviation debt

The Chairman, Senate Committee, on Aviation, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Monday, demanded full explanation on the huge debt profile of N174bn owed to contractors by the Ministry of Aviation from the Supervisory Minister, Mr Samuel Ortom..
Apparently upset about the huge debt profile, Uzordinma said: “In all these awards, the Senate committee was not carried along. “ Her expressed concern on how the Ministry will be able to settle such huge amount.
However, Ortom was quick to add that he and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Jemila Shua’ara, assumed office few months ago.
