Dangote to complete $600m cement factory in Tanzania

The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, on Sunday said the group was partnering with the government of  Tanzania  to complete a $600m cement factory in the east African country.

He said the plant in Tanzania had already reached 25 per cent completion, adding that when completed, it would have annual  3,000,000 metric tons of cement production capacity.

Dangote spoke with journalists at Obajana after  conducting the Tanzania President, Dr. Jakaye   Kikwete, round the Kogi-based plant.

Kikwete was in Nigeria for the recent World Economic Forum in Abuja.

Dangote stated that that the group had  plans to invest in cemet production in 16 African countries.

Kikwete described Obajana Cement Factory as  a state-of-the-art facility.

According to him, Dangote is a reliable partner.

He hoped that the ongoing cement factory in Tanzania would be the best globally.
