NSE moves 408.135m shares worth N4.97bn

Investors at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday exchanged a total of 408.135 million shares worth N4.97 billion in 6,349 deals.

This is against the 355.167 million shares valued at N3.82 billion traded in 5,580 deals on Monday.

The All-Share Index, however, depreciated by 460.48 points or 1.11 per cent to close at 41,189.66 from the 41,650.14 recorded on Monday.

Similarly, market capitalisation which opened at N13.351 trillion, dropped by N148 billion or 1.11 per cent to close at N13.203 trillion.

Forte Oil led the losers’ chart by N2.70 to close at N90.11 per share.

Nigerian Breweries followed with a loss of N2.20 to close at N162 per share while Okomu Oil shed N2.06 to close at N42.69 per share.

Oando Oil dipped by N1.90 to close at N23.28, while Nestle depreciated by N1 to close at N1,165 per share.

On the other hand, Presco topped the price gainers’ chart by N1.40 to close at N44 per share.

Costain trailed with a gain of 18k to close at N1.99 per share.

Transexpr appreciated by 9k to close at N2.08, while NAHCO and Mansard grew by 8k each to close at N5.85 and N2.45 per share, respectively.

NAN reports that the Financial Services Sector remained the toast of investors as FCMB emerged as the most traded stock, accounting for 62.68 million shares worth N243.46 million in 153 deals.

FBNH followed with 49.22 million shares valued at N735.15 million traded in 721 deals, while Zenith Bank sold 48.66 million shares worth N1.13 billion in 474 deals.
