Investors exchange 258.69 million shares on Wednesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Wednesday with investors exchanging 258.69 million shares valued at N2.92 billion in 5,109 deals.

This was in contrast with the 408.14 million shares valued at N4.97 billion that was traded on Tuesday in 6,350 deals.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, on Wednesday, dipped by 397.59 points or 0.96 percent to close at 40,792.07 basis points as against Tuesday’s closing figure of 41,189.66 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally depreciated by N127 billion or 0.96 percent to close lower on Wednesday at N13.076 trillion when compared with Tuesday’s closing figure of N13.203 trillion.

Costain led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 24.75 million shares worth N53.28 million.

Transcorp followed with 21.71 million shares worth N77.86 million while Access Bank was third with 21.49 million shares valued at N194.86 million.

ETI was fourth with 18.26 million shares worth N296.97 million while Diamond Bank was last on the chart with 14.25 million shares worth N94.86 million.

Nestle topped the losers chart shedding N25.00 in its share price to close at N1,140.00 per share.

It was followed by WAPCO which dropped N5.99k in its share price to close at N114.00 per share while CAP Plc in third spot lost N2.34k in its share price to close at N46.66k per share.

Oando was fourth losing N2.26k in its share price to close at N21.02k per share while Okomu Oil was last on the chart with a share price loss of N2.09k to close at N40.60k per share.

However, Forte Oil led the gainers chart with a gain of N1.69k in its share price to close at N91.80k per share.

GTB followed gaining N0.30k in its share price to close at N27.90k per share while Ashaka Cement in third spot gained N0.24k in its share price to close at N18.29k per share.

Livestock Feeds was fourth with a share price gain of N0.20k to close at N4.23k per share while Transexp was last on the chart with a gain of N0.20k in its share price to close at N2.28k per share.
