Investors trade 327.16 million shares on Wednesday

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market ended on Wednesday with investors trading 327.16 million shares worth N3.37 billion in 5,904 deals.

This was in contrast to the 276.44 million shares worth N3.06 billion that was exchanged on Tuesday in 5,698 deals.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 461.69 points or 1.10 percent to close lower on Wednesday at 41,469.94 basis points when compared with Tuesday’s closing figure of 41,931.63 basis points.

The market capitalisation of listed entities equally depreciated by N148 billion or 1.10 percent to close at N13.288 trillion as against Tuesday’s closing figure of N13.436 trillion.

UBA led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 23.49 million shares worth N210.04 million.

Transcorp was second with 23.43 million shares valued at N94.82 million while FBNH was third with 22.67 million shares worth N344.43 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 21.09 million shares worth N505.51 million while Skye Bank was last on the chart with 19.09 million shares worth N77.19 million.

Nestle topped the losers chart on Wednesday shedding N14.99k in its share price to close at N1,160.00 per share.

Nigerian Breweries followed losing N1.58k in its share price to close at N164.32k per share while FBNH in third spot lost N1.00 in its share price to close at N15.10k per share.

Zenith Bank was fourth with a loss of N0.76k in its share price to close at N24.35k per share while Unilever was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.64k to close at N53.36k per share.

However, the gainers chart was led by Forte Oil which appreciated by N7.81k in its share price to close at N90.24k per share.

Julius Berger followed with a gain of N4.90k in its share price to close at N70.00 per share while Presco was third gaining N2.05k in its share price to close at N43.11k per share.

Betaglas in fourth spot gained N0.84k in its share price to close at N17.67k per share while Berger Paints was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.43k to close at N9.08k per share.
