NSE ASI dips by 0.67% on Monday

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market on the first trading day of the week ended on a bearish trend as the All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 280.27 points or 0.67 percent to close on Monday at 41,471.28 basis points as against last Friday’s closing figure of 41,751.55 basis points.

The market capitalisation of listed entities also closed lower at N13.289 trillion losing by N76 billion or 0.57 percent when compared with last Friday’s closing figure of N13.365 trillion.

At the close of Monday’s transactions, investors traded 308.71 million shares worth N4.53 billion in 5,530 deals as against the 463.09 million shares worth N4.37 billion that was exchanged last Friday in 5,825 deals.

NEM led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 35.42 million shares worth N28.44 million.

UBA Capital was second with 29.54 million shares valued at N70.38 million while Transcorp was third with 29.06 million shares worth N120.09 million.

FBNH was fourth with 19.45 million shares worth N312.19 million while Cileasing was last on the chart with 17.84 million valued at N9.25 million.

Oando topped the gainers chart on Monday with an increase of N1.10k in its share price to close at N26.70k per share.

International Breweries followed with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N30.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries was third appreciating by N1.00 in its share price to close at N166.20k per share.

Betaglas in fourth spot gained N0.80k in its share price to close at N16.83k per share while UAC Property was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.46k to close at N21.00 per share.

However, Nestle topped the losers chart shedding N9.95k in its share price to close at N1,155.05k per share.

Dangote Cement was second losing N4.98k in its share price to close at N225.02k per share while Guinness in third spot lost N2.30k in its share price to close at 235.50k per share.

UACN was fourth with a loss of N1.00 in its share price to close at N69.00 per share while PZ was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.60k to close at N37.55k per share.
