NSE ASI inches up by 0.31% on Thursday

The bullish trend continued at the Nigerian Stock Market on Thursday as the All Share Index, ASI, closed higher at 41,740.77 basis points to gain by 129.62 points or 0.31 percent when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of 41,611.15 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally appreciated by N42 billion or 0.31 percent to close at N13.361 trillion as against Wednesday’s closing figure of N13.319 trillion.

At the close of Thursday’s transactions, investors traded 347.95 million shares worth N3.91 billion in 6,462 deals as against the 322.10 million shares valued at N5.58 billion that was exchanged on Wednesday in 6,507 deals.

IHS led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 29.50 million shares worth N88.84 million.

Zenith Bank followed with 26.06 million shares valued at N636.94 million while FBNH was third with 24.24 million shares worth N387.85 million.

Transcorp was fourth with 23.82 million shares worth N96.26 million while NEM was last on the chart with 23.80 million shares worth N19.37 million.

Total led the gainers chart with an increase of N2.96k in its share price to close at N180.00 per share.

Nigerian Breweries followed with a gain of N1.19k in its share price to close at N165.99k per share while Zenith Bank in third spot gained N0.99k in its share price to close at N25.00 per share.

Betaglas was fourth gaining N0.76k in its share price to close at N16.03k per share while PZ was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.72k to close at N37.72k per share.

However, Julius Berger topped the losers chart with a loss of N1.18k in its share price to close at N67.50k per share.

Forte Oil was second with a share price loss of N0.80k to close at N86.00 per share while International Breweries in third spot lost N0.50k in its share price to close at N29.50k per share.

Oando was fourth losing N0.30k in its share price to close at N26.70k per share while Berger Paints was last on the chart with a loss of N0.27k in its share price to close at N8.73k per share.
