Market capitalisation up by N54billion on Wednesday

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market ended on Wednesday on a bullish trend as the market capitalisation of listed entities closed higher at N13.319 trillion gaining by N54 billion or 0.41 percent when compared with Monday’s closing figure of N13.265 trillion.

The NSE All Share index, ASI, equally rose to 41,611.15 basis points appreciating by 169.96 points or 0.41 percent from Monday’s closing figure of 41,441.19 basis points.

At the close of Wednesday’s transactions, investors exchanged 322.10 million shares valued at N5.58 billion in 6,507 deals as against the 380.64 million shares valued at N4.47 billion that was traded on Monday in 6,222 deals.

Nestle topped the losers chart on Wednesday shedding N6.03k in its share price to close at N1,150.00 per share.

Julius Berger followed losing N3.61k in its share price to close at N68.68k per share while Forte Oil in third spot lost N2.20k in its share price to close at N86.80k per share.

Flour Mill was fourth with a loss of N0.31k in its share price to close at N87.10k per share while UAC-Property was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.30k to close at N20.60k per share.

However, Nigerian Breweries led the gainers chart appreciating by N1.79k in its share price to close at N164.80k per share.

Guinness was second with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N238.00 per share while Presco in third spot gained N0.99k in its share price to close at N41.00 per share.

PZ was fourth gaining N0.70k in its share price to close at N37.00 per share while Zenith Bank was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.60k to close at N24.01k per share.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 23.16 million shares worth N93.73 million.

ETI was second with 22.95 million shares valued at N391.83 million while Africa Prudentials was third with 22.45 million shares worth N64.28 million.

FBNH was fourth with 22.37 million shares worth N347.75 million while Oando was last on the chart with 17.69 million shares worth N469.08 million.
