Market Cap gains N7billion on Wednesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, on Wednesday, ended on a positive note as the market capitalisation of listed entities closed higher at N13.386 trillion gaining by N7 billion or 0.05 percent when compared with Tuesday’s closing figure of N13.379 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally rose to 41,830.89 basis points appreciating by 24.16 points or 0.05 percent from Tuesday’s closing figure of 41,806.73 basis points.

At the close of Wednesday’s transactions, investors exchanged 361.31 million shares worth N3.84 billion in 6,411 deals.

This was in contrast with the 417.49 million shares worth N6.34 billion that was traded in 6,448 deals on Tuesday.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 34.12 million shares worth N136.92 million.

FBNH was second with 33.41 million shares worth N522.69 million while Unity Bank was third was third with 30.31 million shares valued at N15.15 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 29.31 million shares worth N666.92 million while FCMB was last with 23.48 million shares worth N89.93 million.

Conoil topped the losers chart shedding N5.37k in its share price to close at N49.98k per share.

Mobil followed with a loss of N3.98k in its share price to close at N111.72k per share while UACN was third losing N3.35k in its share price to close at N67.00 per share.

Guinness was fourth with a share price loss of N2.48k to close at N235.60k per share while PZ in fifth spot lost N0.85k in its share price to close at N37.05k per share.

However, Dangote Cement led the gainers chart with an increase of N5.00 in its share price to close at N240.00 per share.

Presco was second gaining N1.50k in its share price to close at N39.00 per share while Flour mill was third with a gain of N0.98k in its share price to close at N88.04k per share.

Union Dicon was fourth appreciating by N0.35k in its share price to close at N13.00 per share while Okomu oil was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.33k to close at N43.99k.
