NSE ASI inches up by 0.14% on Monday

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market ended on Monday with the All Share Index, ASI, inching up by 56.82 points or 0.14 percent to close at 41.507.30 basis points as against last Friday’s closing figure of 41,450.48 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally rose to N13.283 trillion gaining by N18 billion or 0.14 percent from last Friday’s closing figure of N13.265 trillion.

At the close of Monday’s transactions, investors exchanged 326.06 million shares worth N2.91 billion in 5,365 deals.

This was in contrast with the 524.46 million shares valued at N4.21 billion that was traded in 5,496 deals last Friday.

NEM led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 37.43 million shares worth N33.72 million.

UBA was second with 36.17 million shares valued at N340.14 million while Japaul oil was third with 29.28 million shares worth N19.29 million.

ETI was fourth with 28.53 million shares worth N493.85 million while Unity Bank was last on the chart with 22.46 million shares worth N11.23 million.

Dangote Cement led the gainers chart on Monday with an increase of N4.00 in its share price to close at N224.00 per share.

Guinness followed gaining N2.95k in its share price to close at N239.95k per share while Nigerian Breweries was third with a gain of N1.99k in its share to close at N167.99k per share.

Union Dicon was fourth with a share price gain of N1.23k to close at N13.31k per share while UBN was last on the chart with a gain of N0.48k in its share price to close at N10.48k per share.

However, Nestle led the losers chart shedding N12.00 in its share price to close at N1,170 per share.

Forte oil was second with a loss of N2.64k in its share price to close at N90.00 per share while Oando was third losing N2.59k in its share price to close at N24.07k per share.

CAP was fourth with a loss of N1.75k in its share price to close at N46.70k per share while Zenith Bank was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.89k to close at N24.21k per share.
