Jigawa government approve over N3bn for projects

The Jigawa state executive council has approved over N3billion for executing various projects in the state.

Commissioner for information Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim while stated this yesterday while briefing news men yesterday after executive council at state government house Dutse.

He explain that the projects include the construction of newly six feeder roads in six different towns and villages with a total distance of 50km at total cost of N1.77b.

He also stated that the council has also approved the award of contract for the electrification of ten villages and towns across the state at the total cost of over N249m and the contract was given to various contractors which are expected to be completed within next few months.

The commissioner added that the council also approved over N2.6b to the first, second and third UBEB/SUBEB intervention projects for the providing of 836 structures across the 222 schools available in the state.

The structures includes the construction of 413 additional class rooms, renovation of 427 existing class rooms, construction of 9 administrative blocks, wall fencing of primary schools, construction of 13 hostels blocks, renovation of 2 hostels blocks, construction of 8 workshop labs and construction of 2 computer sciences awarded to various construction companies.
