NSE ASI dips by 0.12% on Tuesday
Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Market on Tuesday ended on a bearish trend as the All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 48.53 points or 0.12 percent to close lower at 39,858.23 basis points when compared with Monday’s closing figure of 39,906.76 basis points.
The market capitalisation of listed entities equally lost by N16 billion or 0.12 percent to close at N12.755 trillion as against Monday’s closing figure of N12.771 trillion.
At the close of Tuesday’s transactions, investors traded 610.61 million shares worth N2.35 billion in 3,206 deals as against the 289.98 million shares valued at N2.14 billion that was exchanged on Monday in 3,952 deals.
Nigerian Breweries led the losers chart on Tuesday shedding N3.15k in its share price to close at N161.85k per share.
It was followed by Dangote Cement with a loss of N1.77k in its share price to close at N211.03k per share while International Breweries in third spot lost N1.29k in its share price to close at N27.71k per share.
WAPCO was fourth losing N1.15k in its share price to close at N111.15k per share while Champion Breweries was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.88k to close at N16.91k per share.
However, GSK topped the gainers chart appreciating by N2.88k in its share price to close at N68.50k per share.
Oando was second with a gain of N1.36k in its share price to close at N19.00 per share while UACN in third spot gained N1.00 in its share price to close at N67.00 per share.
Presco was fourth with a gain of N0.60k in its share price to close at N38.00 per share while Ashaka Cement was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.55k to close at N20.17k per share.
MTI led the top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday with 267.61 million shares worth N133.81 million.
Unity Bank was second with 118.83 million shares valued at N59.48 million while Transcorp was third with 38.29 million volume of shares worth N170.53 million.
FCMB was fourth with 34.47 million shares valued at N116.68 million while UBA was last on the chart with 19.32 million shares valued at N154.22 million.
