Investors trade 289.98 million shares on Monday
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Monday with investors trading 289.98 million shares valued at N2.14 billion in 3,952 deals.
This was in contrast with the 698.89 million shares valued at N4.91 billion that was exchanged last Friday in 4,478 deals.
The market capitalisation of entities on the main board appreciated by N110 billion or 0.87 percent to close higher on Monday at N12.771 trillion when compared with last Friday’s closing figure of N12.661 trillion.
The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally gained by 344.01 points or 0.87 percent to close at 39,906.76 basis points as against the 39,562.75 basis points closing figure of last Friday.
Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 50.67 million shares worth N204.93 million.
Unity Bank followed with 44.67 million shares valued at N22.80 million while WAPIC was third with 31.95 million shares worth N30.87 million.
FCMB was fourth with 25.77 million shares worth N83.83 million while Japaul Oil was last on the chart with 12.32 million shares worth N6.17 million.
Nigerian Breweries topped the gainers chart on Monday with an increase of N3.50k in its share price to close at N165.00 per share.
GSK was second with a gain of N3.12k in its share price to close at N65.62k per share while Dangote Cement was third gaining N1.80k in its share price to close at N212.80k per share.
Oando in fourth spot gained N1.22k in its share price to close at N17.64k per share while ETI was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.48k to close at N15.49k per share.
However, Guinness led the losers chart with a loss of N4.01k in its share price to close at N236.00 per share.
Cadbury was second losing N1.60k in its share price to close at N60.88k per share while International Breweries in third spot lost N1.00 in its share price to close at N29.00 per share.
E-Tranzact was fourth with a loss of N0.13k in its share price to close at N2.56k per share while Skye Bank was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.10k to close at N4.00 per share
