Investors trade 698.89million shares on Friday
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Friday with investors trading 698.89 million shares valued at N4.91 billion in 4,478 deals.
This was in contrast with the 714.20 million shares valued at N3.06 billion that was exchanged in 4,276 deals on Thursday.
The market capitalisation of listed entities lost by N64 billion or 0.5 percent to close lower on Friday at N12.660 trillion when compared with Thursday’s closing figure of N12.724 trillion.
The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally dipped by 197.68 points or 0.5 percent to close at 39,562.75 basis points as against Thursday’s closing figure of 39,760.43 basis points.
Dangote Cement topped the gainers chart on Friday appreciating by N1.00 in its share price to close at N211.00 per share.
It was followed by UACN with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N66.00 per share while Champion Breweries in third spot gained N0.84k in its share price to close at N17.79k per share.
Unilever was fourth with a share price gain of N0.80k to close at N53.80k per share while ETI was last on the chart with a gain of N0.26k in its share price to close at N15.01k per share.
However, Nigerian Breweries led the losers chart losing N6.47k in its share price to close at N161.50k per share.
Nestle was second with a loss of N4.90k in its share price to close at N1,185.10K per share while GSK in third spot lost N2.50k in its share price to close at N62.50k per share.
Zenith Bank was fourth with a share price loss of N0.41k to close at N22.90k per share while FBNH was last on the chart shedding N0.40k in its share price to close at N16.10k per share.
Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Friday with 172.55 million shares worth N677.34 million.
FCMB was second with 169.02 million shares valued at N540.97 million while ETI was third with 47.29 million shares worth N702.79 million.
Unity Bank was fourth with 33.48 million shares valued at N17.12 million while UBA was last on the chart with 31.75 million shares worth N250.79 million.
