Market Cap up by N121 billion on Thursday

The bullish trend continued at the Nigerian Stock Market on Thursday as the market capitalisation of listed entities rose to N12.724 trillion gaining by N121 billion or 0.96 percent from yesterday’s closing figure of N12.603 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally closed higher at 39,760.43 basis points appreciating by 377.10 points or 0.96 percent when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of 39,383.33 basis points.

At the close of Thursday’s transactions, investors exchanged 714.20 million shares valued at N3.06 billion in 4,276 deals as against the 424.88 million shares valued at N3.73 billion that was traded in 4,803 deals.

Unity Bank led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 383.82 million shares worth N192.11 million.

FCMB was second with 161.83 million volume of shares valued at N517.99 million while AIICO was third with 22.42 million shares worth N18.23 million.

Transcorp was fourth with 17.63 million shares worth N68.63 million while Fidelity Bank was last on the chart with 11.72 million shares worth N29.16 million.

Nestle led the gainers chart on Thursday with an increase of N64.00 in its share price to close at N1,190.00 per share.

WAPCO followed with a gain of N5.30k in its share price to close at N112.30k per share while Nigerian Breweries in third spot gained N2.97k in its share price to close at N167.97k per share.

Zenith Bank was fourth with a share price gain of N1.35k to close at N23.31k per share while Unilever was last on the chart with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N53.00 per share.

However, Dangote Cement led the losers chart losing N1.74k in its share price to close at N210.00 per share.

Cadbury was second with a loss of N0.52k in its share price to close at N62.48k per share while Ashaka Cement was third shedding N0.45k in its share price to close at N19.35k per share.

UAC-Property was fourth with a loss of N0.25k in its share price to close at N17.75k per share while UACN was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.20k to close at N65.00 per share.
