NSE ASI dips by 1.42% on Tuesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended Tuesday on a bearish note as the All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 564.97 points or 1.42 percent to close lower at 39,130.37 basis points when compared with Monday’s closing figure of 39,695.34 basis points.

The market capitalisation of listed entities also lost by N181 billion or 1.42 percent to close on Tuesday at N12.522 trillion as against Monday’s closing figure of N12.703 trillion.

International Breweries topped the gainers chart on Tuesday appreciating by N1.35k in its share price to close at N28.39k per share.

It was followed by PZ with a gain of N0.82k in its share price to close at N36.45k per share while NASCON in third spot gained N0.64k in its share price to close at N13.49k per share.

Union Dicon was fourth with a share price gain of N0.47k to close at N10.04k per share while CCNN was last on the chart with a gain of N0.46k in its share price to close at N9.98k per share.

However, Guinness topped the losers chart shedding N11.99k in its share price to close at N235.01k per share.

Dangote Cement followed losing N10.00 in its share price to close at N210.00 per share while Mobil was third with a loss of N3.60k in its share price to close at N115.05k per share.

WAPCO in fourth spot lost N1.50k in its share price to close at N105.50k per share while NNFM was last on the chart with a share price loss of N1.21k to close at N23.16k per share.

FCMB led the top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday with 228.09 million shares worth N729.85 million.

Unity Bank was second with 69.49 million shares valued at N35.72 million while Access Bank was third with 50.06 million shares worth N478.36 million.

ETI was fourth with 37.67 million volume of shares worth N553.92 million while Skye Bank was last on the chart with 32.85 million shares valued at N131.66 million.

In all, investors traded 622.47 million shares valued at N4.22 billion in 4,679 deals as against the 265.12 million shares valued at N2.86 billion that was exchanged in 3,974 on Monday.
