NSE ASI gains by 0.02% on Monday

The first trading day of the week at the Nigerian Stock Market ended with the All Share Index gaining by 9.36 points or 0.02 percent to close on Monday at 38,747.51 basis points as against last Friday’s closing figure of 38,738.15 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally gained by N3 billion or 0.02 percent to close higher at N12.393 trillion when compared with Friday’s closing figure of N12.390 trillion.

WAPCO led the gainers chart on Monday with a gain of N2.05k to its share price to close at N106.00 per share.

Mobil was second gaining N1.80k in its share price to close at N120.00 per share while Unilever was third with a gain of N0.95k to its share price to close at N60.56k per share.

Stanbic was fourth with a share price gain of N0.36k to close at N19.76k per share while UACN was last on the chart with a gain of N0.25k in its share price to close at N64.00 per share.

However, Okomu oil led the losers chart shedding N1.00 in its share price to close at N43.00 per share.

Guinness was second with a loss of N1.00 in its share price to close at N259.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries was third losing N0.86k in its share price to close at N161.14k per share.

Dangote Cement was fourth with a share price loss of N0.47k to close at N195.03k per share while CCNN was last on the chart with a loss of N0.32k in its share price to close at N9.73k per share.

Unity Bank led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 357.73 million shares worth N189.61 million.

Transcorp was second with 100.15 million volume of shares worth N419.01 million while Zenith Bank was third with 28.48 million shares worth N603.66 million.

Access Bank was fourth with 21.35 million shares valued at N206.43 million while GTB was last with 18.03 million shares valued at N484.45 million.

At the close of transactions on Monday, investors traded 676.39 million shares valued at N3.49 billion in 4,776 deals.

This was in contrast to the 512.01 million shares worth N3.18 billion that was exchanged in 4,271 deals last Friday.
