NSE ASI down by 0.32% on Friday

The last trading day at the Nigerian Stock Market ended on a bearish note as the All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 126.69 points or 0.32 percent to close on Friday at 38,738.15 basis points as against Thursday’s closing figure of 38,864.84 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally lost by N40 billion or 0.32 percent to close lower at N12.390 trillion when compared with Thursday’s closing figure of N12.430 trillion.

At the close of Friday’s transactions, investors traded 512.01 million shares valued at N3.18 billion in 4,271 deals as against the 484.64 million shares worth N3.73 billion that was exchanged in 5,877 deals on Thursday.

Nestle led the losers chart shedding N25.00 in its share price to close at N1,175.00 per share.

Nigerian Breweries followed with a loss of N2.00 in its share price to close at N162.00 per share while Mobil in third spot lost N1.80k in its share price to close at N118.20k per share.

Unilever was fourth with a share price loss of N0.95k to close at N59.61k per share while Livestock feeds was last on the chart with a loss of N0.24k in its share price to close at N4.42k per share.

However, WAPCO topped the gainers chart with a gain of N3.05k in its share price to close at N103.95k per share.

Okomu oil was second gaining N1.00 in its share price to close at N44.00 per share while Union Dicon in third spot gained N0.63k in its share price to close at N6.83k per share.

Afriprud was fourth with a share price gain of N0.24k to close at N2.69k per share while NASCON was last on the chart with a gain of N0.22k in its share price to close at N13.00 per share.

Unity Bank led the top five trades by volume chart on Friday with 157.22 million shares worth N83.46 million.

WAPIC was second with 87.43 million volume of shares valued at N86.61 million while Transcorp was third with 45.94 million shares worth N193.14 million.

Custodian Insurance followed with 44.29 million shares worth N88.49 million while NEM was last on the chart with 18.18 million shares worth N10.55 million.
