Market Cap gains N12billion on Wednesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Wednesday with the market capitalisation of entities on the main board closing higher at N12.471 trillion to gain by N12 billion or 0.09 percent when compared with Tuesday’s closing figure of N12.459 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally rose to 38,990.20 basis points gaining by 34.78 points or 0.09 percent from Tuesday’s closing figure of 38,955.42 basis points.

At the end of Wednesday’s transactions, investors exchanged 671.59 million shares valued at N6.13 billion in 5,716 deals.

This was in contrast to the 308.96 million shares worth N4.23 billion that was traded on Tuesday in 5,493 deals.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Wednesday with 275.35 million shares worth N1.22 billion.

It was followed by Zenith Bank with 58.89 million volume of shares worth N1.27 billion while Etranzact was third with 39.74 million shares worth N112.86 million.

WAPIC was fourth with 36.89 million shares worth 36.59 million while Skye Bank was last on the chart with 25.45 million shares valued at N105.88 million.

Flour mill topped the gainers chart with a gain of N2.58k in its share price to close at N91.85k per share.

Presco was second gaining N1.82k in its share price to close at N38.37k per share while Unilever in third spot gained N1.55k in its share price to close at N60.56k per share.

Oando was fourth with a share price gain of N0.62k to close at N15.83k per share while Okomu oil was last on the chart with a gain of N0.60k in its share price to close at N43.00 per share.

However, Guinness led the losers chart shedding N2.00 in its share price to close at N260.00 per share.

Cadbury followed with a loss of N1.36k in its share price to close at N61.49k per share while GTB in third spot lost N0.49k in its share price to close at N27.31k per share.

Stanbic was fourth with a share price loss of N0.20k to close at N19.40k per share while Access Bank was last on the chart with a loss of N0.15k in its share price to close at N9.65k per share.
