NSE ASI down by 0.23% on Tuesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on a bearish note on Tuesday with the All Share Index, ASI, closing lower at 38,955.42 basis points losing by 89.65 points or 0.23 percent when compared with Monday’s closing figure of 39,045.07 basis points.

The market capitalisation of listed entities equally depreciated by N29 billion or 0.23 percent to close on Tuesday at N12.459 trillion as against Monday’s closing figure of N12.488 trillion.

Zenith Bank led the top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday with 62.16 million shares worth N1.32 billion.

It was followed by Unity Bank with 27.33 million volume of shares valued at N15.55 million while Transcorp was third with 26.28 million shares worth N107.71 million.

UBA was fourth with 21.91 million shares worth N165.92 million while FBNH was last on the chart with 15.33 million shares valued at N254.10 million.

Nestle led the losers chart on Tuesday shedding N49.50k in its share price to close at N1,200.00 per share.

Unilever was second with a loss of N2.39k in its share price to close at N59.01k per share while Nigerian Breweries in third spot lost N1.50k in its share price to close at N168.00 per share.

UAC-Property was fourth with a share price loss of N0.50k to close at N17.50k per share while Dangote Sugar was last on the chart with a loss of N0.36k in its share price to close at N11.00 per share.

However, Guinness was ahead of others on the gainers chart with a gain of N2.00 in its share price to close at N262.00 per share.

Oando followed gaining N0.69k in its share price to close at N15.21k per share while Ashaka Cement in third spot gained N0.51k in its share price to close at N20.61k per share.

WAPCO was fourth with a share price gain of N0.50k to close at N100.50k per share while Livestock Feeds was last on the chart with a gain of N0.39k in its share price to close at N4.29k per share.

In all, investors traded 308.96 million shares valued at N4.23 billion in 5,493 deals as against the 289.09 million shares valued at N1.72 billion that was exchanged in 4,495 deals on Monday
