NSE ASI down by 0.21% on Thursday
Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on a bearish note on Thursday as the All Share Index, ASI, depreciated by 82.66 points or 0.21 percent to close lower at 38,928.65 basis points when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of 39,011.31 basis points.
The market capitalisation of listed entities was also down by N26 billion or 0.21 percent to close on Thursday at N12.451 trillion as against the N12.477 trillion closing figure of Wednesday.
At the close of Thursday’s transactions, investors exchanged 252.65 million shares worth N2.58 billion in 4,717 deals as against the 361.78 million shares valued at N4.76 billion that was traded in 4,761 deals on Wednesday.
Forte Oil topped the losers chart shedding N5.72k in its share price to close at N108.73k per share.
It was followed by UACN, which lost N2.00 in its share price to close at N64.00 per share while GSK in third spot lost N1.00 in its share price to close at N65.00 per share.
UPDCreit was fourth with a share price loss of N0.50k to close at N10.00 per share while Transcorp was last on the chart with a loss of N0.41k in its share price to close at N3.93k per share.
However, the gainers chart was led by Cadbury with a gain of N3.00 in its share price to close at N62.85k per share.
PZ was second appreciating by N1.40k in its share price to close at N37.50k per share while Nigerian Breweries in third spot gained N0.50k in its share price to close at N168.00 per share.
Jos Breweries in fourth spot added N0.35k to its share price to close at N3.92k per share while Dangote Sugar was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.31k to close at N11.30k per share.
WAPIC led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 55.65 million shares worth N55.09 million.
ETI was second with 41.97 million shares valued at N633.77 million while Zenith Bank was third with 13.69 million shares worth N290.41 million.
Oando was fourth with 12.99 million shares valued at N183.20 million while FBNH was last on the chart with 10.23 million shares worth N164.42 million.
