NSE ASI dips by 0.63% on Tuesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on a bearish note on Tuesday as the All Share Index, ASI, closed lower at 38,975.16 basis points shedding 246.86 points or 0.63 percent when compared with Monday’s closing figure of 39,222.02 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally lost by N79 billion or 0.63 percent to close at N12.466 trillion as against Monday’s closing figure of N12.545 trillion.

Nestle topped the gainers chart on Tuesday appreciating by N53.00 in its share price to close at N1,250.00 per share.

Total followed gaining N3.90k in its share price to close at N164.00 per share while CAP Plc in third spot gained N1.60k in its share price to close at N50.45k per share.

Flour mill was fourth with a share price gain of N1.40k to close at N85.00 per share while ETI was last on the chart with a gain of N0.71k in its share price to close at N14.99k per share.

However, Nigerian Breweries led others on the losers chart shedding N4.99k in its share price to close at N165.02k while Mobil was second losing N1.50k in its share price to close at N114.50k per share.

PZ was third with a loss of N1.30k in its share price to close at N36.50k per share while Cadbury in fourth spot lost N1.00 in its share price to close at N57.00 per share.

Dangote cement was last on the chart with a share price loss of N1.00 to close at N194.00 per share.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart with 68.04 million shares worth N336.42 million while Oando was second with 44.14 million volume of shares valued at N650.23 million.

WAPIC was third with 41.23 million shares worth N41.08 million while GTB was fourth with 31.29 million volume of shares valued at N860.14 million.

Access Bank was last on the chart with 23.34 million shares worth N227.31 million.

In all, investors exchanged 449.13 million shares valued at N4.81 billion in 6,247 deals as against the 545.25 million shares valued at N3.97 billion that was traded on Monday in 5,929 deals.
