Investors trade 542.25 million shares on Monday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on Monday with investors trading 545.25 million shares valued at N3.97 billion in 5,929 deals.

This was in contrast to the 1.16 billion shares valued at N7.92 billion that was exchanged in 6,534 deals last Friday.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, closed lower at 39,222.02 basis points losing by 24.03 points or 0.06 percent when compared with last Friday’s closing figure of 39,246.05 basis points.

The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally dipped by N7 billion or 0.06 percent to close on Monday at N12.545 trillion as against the N12.552 trillion closing figure of last Friday.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 170.97 million shares valued at N926.79 million while Unity bank was second with 46.63 million volume of shares worth N30.73 million.

Skye Bank was third with 40.82 million shares worth N163.22 million while Access Bank followed with 36.65 million shares worth N375.93 million.

WAPIC was last on the chart with 31.26 million shares valued at N31.17 million.

The top five gainers chart on Monday was led by Forte Oil with a gain of N4.59k in its share price to close at N114.45k per share.

It was followed by Presco with a share price gain of N1.75k to close at N36.75k per share while GTB was third with a gain of N1.00 in its share price to close at N27.80k per share.

GSK in fourth spot gained N0.80k in its share price to close at N64.80k per share while Okomu oil was last on the chart with a gain of N0.55k in its share price to close at N43.94k per share.

However, WAPCO led the losers chart shedding N5.54k in its share price to close at N105.26k per share while Nestle followed with a share price loss of N3.00 to close at N1,197.00 per share.

UACN was third losing N0.65k in its share price to close at N66.35k per share while Transcorp in fourth spot lost N0.56k in its share price to close at N5.31k per share.

NASCON was last on the chart with a loss of N0.47k in its share price to close at N13.10k per share.
